The main function of the Database Administrator is to maintain the integrity of the marketing database. This role involves:

  •  Checking the accuracy & integrity of data going onto the database (via the database researchers, Customer Services and other means) by analysing the physical data and re-researching missing data if necessary by phone
  •  Dealing with return mailings by updating the database accordingly
  •  Formatting various sources and types of data for importing into the database and for mailings
  •  Dealing with internal and external requests for database changes (suppressing, amending and adding records) which can be requested via mail, phone and email.
  •  Sending out database opt-in requests via email
  •  Automatically re-researching certain database records e.g. past delegate who are in the system as left company etc
  •  Maintaining the monthly database import schedule
  •  Updating data entry manuals
  •  Updating records with business cards collected at events
  •  De-duping, merging and various other ongoing database projects
  •  Maintaining business specific inboxes and projects
  •  Training researchers and new integrity staff
